:( I need help wiring my bike. I tried to make a new harness, all done but can't seem to figure out why it doesn't work. All correct according to manual, and checked with meter. I am thinking of trying to use a Doremi kz1000 MK ii harness, but it is very different.
If so embody has a scan of the MK 2 harness diagram so I can adapt it, or if you live near bridgeport, CT, I need help bad.
Thanks,
J

The needed diagram might be in KZr's FILEBASE.

What year and model wiring diagram is needed?

Here are links to the A2 and A4 wiring diagrams in the FILEBASE.

I didn't see an A3 (MarkII) diagram in the FILEBASE. If needed, here's a scan from the FSM:

Hi there
Have made my own loom for a few bikes in the past.
Sometimes I find that trying to do too much at once is the biggest problem.

Can you give us an idea of what you are trying to do.
Is it a full rewire back to standard?

Last z1000 I did I changed the fuse box to a 6 gang blade type holder.
This gives you the option on splitting your circuits into
Ignition
Side lights and indicators
Low beam
High beam
Stop light and horn
Accessory line

I would suggest that you think about doing a section at a time.
Start with the ignition circuit, test it then use cable ties to hold the wiring onto the bike..
Next wire up your lights . test and cable tie to bike.
Repeat for each circuit.

The single biggest point is to always have good ground points .

If the frame has been powder coated, or painted, a M6 X 1 tap can be used to remove the paint inside the welded in frame nuts. Also, make sure the engine mounting bolt where the Negative(-) battery cable goes to, is clean and tight. If you don't do these steps, the battery won't be in the circuit, and the bike won't work.
