Hi, im new. i havent tried searching this topic yet since i googled it many times with no luck anyways.
just bought this 81 kz305 ltd and it runs good but im trying to find out if there is any electronic ignition system conversion for this bike. seems like this bike doesnt get much love aftermarket wise.

Maybe you could get the stock ignition from an 87-88 KZ305? If so, you'd probably want to get new coils, maybe some appropriate Dynas from Z1Enterprises.com?
Note: I have no idea how difficult it would be to mount the pulsing coil. Also, I didn't see a timing rotor, so I don't know about that either.

thanks for the reply. i was really hoping for a conversion kit that i could buy and just slap on though. theres not much of a selection of old bikes in my area.

Z1Enterprises.com has coils for the KZ305, but they do not list an aftermarket electronic ignition for it. You could contact them to see if they have any suggestions. Or try contacting Dynatech. Another place to check is the KZ400.com forums - there's a 250/305 section.

If anyone else would like info on the system, please email me, the systems are not limited to the kz twins bu I-4's as well.
