lost key
30 Mar 2014 19:12 - 30 Mar 2014 19:40
Just as it sounds. Can not find the keys to my 77 kz650. Of course this means no starting, gassing up or raising my seat. Suggestions?
My fiance has an 85 rebel with no ignition and gets turned by the way of a screwdiver. How did these people do this? Promise, no foul play about. Just want to get my bike running.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationTake a really close look at your seat lock. Next to the keyhole you should see a 3 digit number. It should begin with an "8". Assuming the seat, ignition, and fork lock are all original, the Kawasaki key with that 3 digit number should fit all 3 locks. Any key will fit the fuel tank lock as it has no pins inside. The eBay guy below has a bunch of different KZ keys. If he has one that matches the number on your lock it should work. Ed

Is there a way to open the seat so I can remove the lock ? hav'nt seen the key for my 76 LTD 900 in 2 1/2 yrs. while I've been buying all kinds of parts for it, so yesterday I decide to go out & start fiddling with it & ended up spending the whole day trying to find the key, so I gave up & went to a lock & safe place that said they could make a key if I get the 3 digit # from the seat lock , it's 751, he made me 2 keys for 23.00, I get home & they don't work....what other options do I have, I called another place that will come out to me to make a key but they want 95.00, WTF !!!

I lost a patience and ended up drilling mine out. Then I ordered a new ignition from Z1 Enterprises.
