Alternator Rotor Condition
10 Mar 2014 17:16
I've been chasing both a voltage drop and charging issue. Just wanted to see if anyone had any comments on the condition of the rotor while i have it easily accessible, before I tighten it down with a new gasket and fill up on oil.
Are scrapes like that a huge deal? There are some smaller ones on the other sides. The magnet still seems to be strong, although I'm not really sure how strong strong should be here.

I don't see anything wrong with using it.

See any burned spots on the stator(the wire windings)? Did you use a multimeter to ohm it out? Check from any of the three phases to ground too.
