Having problems with my mk11.It has Dyna s pick up and coils, with the wired George mod .It starts instantly and idles perfect. However on the last two rides it played up. Was running fine then it just stoped as if it had been turned off, no misfiring or spluttering just nothing. pulled out a plug and no spark but if I wound it over after a while it started, some times it would run fine for 20 miles or 100 miles or stop before you had put your helmet on. I have checked the wiring but cannot see anything obvious.As I think it is wiring can it be the dyna bits ? But with two pick ups and two coils to have both stop at once seems strange .And for it to start and to run fine sometimes seems odd. Am I missing something that I should check ??

if all the wiring for your wired george mod checks okay :unsure: ......... possible it has a bad relay since it powers both coils and is intermittent :S :dry: :unsure:

Yes that sounds possible. Will put a new relay on and hope to return from its next ride. cheers

cheap relays can be a problem as they "crap" out at the most inopportune time :S

It is a bosch relay so not too cheap . Intermittent problems are the worst .At least when something fails you know where to look.

i didn't think the bosch 5 pin relay was made any longer...... :unsure: I think tyco makes them now.....

also check the relay for corrosion outside on the terminals and pull the cover off and check inside ....it may be a corrosion problem......I use dielectric grease and rtv to keep moisture from getting inside the relay......my.02

It is now called a Bosch-style relay and is made by almost everyone.
There are the cheap Chinese ones that are 3 for a dollar and the higher quality waterproof ones that are closer to $5. I personally prefer those.

I've gotten some of the tyco's and tyco's are made in portugal. they seem to be of better quality than the cheap junk relays :huh: still probably not as good as a bosch. but I used bosch relays years ago ...the cheap chinese relays do not seem to last long :(

It is a Bosch 12v 30A 5 pin plug bought in 2012 when I put the dyna in . Has run fine until 2 months ago. Defiantly not corrosion as have not had much rain since then. But have checked terminals .
