'81 kz550 ltd, ignition coil wiring help
02 Feb 2014 23:05
Right in the middle of wiring up my 1981 kz550 ltd and I'm not sure what to do.
Made it to the ignition coils and not sure how to wire them.
Which wire goes to the + terminal?
The green/black wires coming from the ignitor, or the yel/red?
Does it matter?
Really don't want to fry anything.

It should not matter, because the coil primary terminals are non-polar.
But in cases where the coil terminals are marked positive and negative, would attach the red/yellow (switched battery positive) to the coil terminal marked positive.
Good Fortune!
