hello . members .. 1980 kz1000G mounted to the frame under the tank is a porcelin connector i think is a resistor i broke part of the porcelin off . the wires are still connected .will it still work or should i replace it

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI would replace it. If it's the part labeled #9 in the Kawasaki.com diagram there's one available on eBay. Ed

That is too much money. For a little more money you could buy some Dyna coils and replace those old coils and not need the resistor.

If you broke the outer white porcelain, but not the internal wire coil. Use an OHM meter to measure the resistance. It also may be stamped on the outer shell. Once you know the OHM Value, you can find a replacement for well under $20. NAPA, O'Reilly's, etc. Or back to FEE Bay. Even a CAR Wrecking Yard with some older points model cars if your desperate for cash.

That's crazy. Any generic 1 ohm ballast should work, and should only be a few dollars. As Roy said, if you eventually get new coils, you will eliminate the ballast completely.

EDIT, Dang, Motorhead beat me to it. :laugh:

Good to know that you don't need that resistor if you have dyna coils cause I lost mine a long time ago lol
