Anything I should unplug to weld? was created by HAFROD
Going to weld a bracket and a new square nut that was stripped on my frame on my 84 GPZ. Should I unhook anything? Remove anything? Don't want to kill any electronics if there is a chance of it.

Remove battery. Hydrogen goes boom. And all plastics in the area.

So no chance of smoking the pick ups or coils?

All depends on where you place your ground. Electricity takes the path of least resistance.
If your worried about it take it to someone who knows what they're doing. I hope you were
already planning to remove the fuel tank.

I'm worried about it but I sure am not going to take it to someone else. I can weld rather well myself.

Just disconnect the battery and place the earth clamp on a part of the frame that is as close to the area you are welding as possible.
You won't damage any electrical components.
