I'm on my second dyna and the guy I got the bike off of replaced one as well.
My question is would a 4.6 stock coil help the dyna go bad quicker than usual?
I have put the 3 ohm green coils on the bike. Along with dyna wires and new ignition no problems yet.. I really don't see why the higher ohm coils would make a difference.
Maybe just dumb luck with the dynasty at the time..or maybe the garage gremlins left the key on when I wasn't looking

I don't see how a higher Ohm coil would cause the ignition to go bad, but an old flaky coil might if it was allowing the high voltage windings to arc down which would blow out stuff on the low voltage side.dkoz wrote: My bike has stock coils ohms out at 4.6. And 4.3

dynateck told me coils need to match ignition.. dyna s with 3 ohm coils will give a much better spark out put ..( of course)Powerstroke_fan wrote: Not sure if your running resistor caps? But i remember reading on dyna's website before where they said not run them. But not sure if that will hurt the ign? But ive heard of weak or overcharging alternator causing them to fail.
They also said if you run dw-200 plug wires (copper core ) with OEM resistor caps will be best ..they recommended this .
