Depends on what ignition is fitted and whether the resistance of the coils is compatible with the ignition.
With stock points ignition, each stock coil was likely a 3~4 ohm resistance.
If the ignition has been replaced with an electronic ignition, such as Dyna-S, then 3 ohm coils (such as Dyna green coils) are recommended.
It's possible also that the stock ignition might have been replaced by some other electronic ignition, such as the igniter style ignition from a later model (uses lesser ohm coils) .
Would use an ohmmeter to measure the primary resistance on the new coils at hand to determine the resistance of each coil.
Then decide whether the resistance is compatible with whatever ignition system is now already fitted.
