Voltage regulator was created by kenfowler123
Hey guys, I have a 2002 ninja 250r, dont ride it much because i love my kz; however, I took it for a ride about 2 months back with no problems. I had then parked it and went to start it a couple days ago with no power. I charged the battery, cleaned the leads and still no power. I am guessing that it must be the regulator. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What I am puzzled by is the fact that i rode it with no problems that day and it just sat for a couple of months.
Thanks
Thanks

If the bike has no power being distributed through the electrical system, I doubt it's the regulator. I always believed the regulator was part of the charging system and shouldn't affect the main feed. It could be a bad ground, popped fuse, or a broken/disconnected wire somewhere.

Thanks for your reply. I have checked all the fuses and i am worried if it is not the regulator it might be the brain box?
I have taken all the fairings off along with the gas tank and i could not see anything obvious with the wiring.

Did you test the battery? How old is it?
A multimeter is handy for checking stuff (VC97 = good/inexpensive).
Starter solenoid fuse. In case you aren't aware, I believe the EX250 has a 30A fuse at the starter solenoid.
Ninja 250 web page The electrical section has a color wiring diagram that may be helpful - it has been created from a software program.
