tailight wiring was created by Schmeck
So Im running a harley tombstone tailight and the problem I have run into is that it only has 2 wires . A red and a black . I wanted to have the tail as a running light and also a stop lamp like the previous taillight . Is there a way to do this ? I combined the two wires into the one red and its just the same brightness all the time. Can someone school me on this ?

You would need to replace the single filament socket with a dual filament one so it has two hot wires, one for low and high brightness filaments.

If you are refering to the bulb having a tall wire and a shorter wire infront of it then it has that .

Nevermind I figured it out lol . both 2 wires are hot and the tailight housing itself grounds to the metal fender . there is no ground wire . Interesting design.
