So I noticed the wires going to my stator were really brittle and stiff. In fact most of the wiring in the sub-harness that runs to the stator is brittle, cracking and needs to be replaced.
Easy enough job except I forgot to note which wires to the stator went where.
The rest of the wires in the sub-harness are color coded and aren't any problem at all. But the two wires going to the stator are both yellow and I forgot to mark them.
Does it matter? And how do I figure out which is which?

Nope, it should not matter. On the 4's, three yellow wires come from the stator, 120 degrees apart, a three phase system.
