Headlight dosen't work

everything works on this bike but the headlight won't come on.The bike is a 1979 kz1000 ltd the bulb is good any suggestions

check for ground and power at pigtail. power is red/yellow and red/black.
should be 12v +
ck blue might be other color wire at fuse box......10 amp fuse

Blue and yellow feed my headlamp switch. Yellow and red are low beam. And red and black are high beam. If I remember correctly. Not always the case these days though.

Print these out, and keep in the toolbox:
Color Codes On Most Kawasaki’s (written for 1980’s bikes)
HEADLIGHT
RED with BLACK stripe, High Beam.
RED with YELLOW stripe, Low Beam.
BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.
BRAKE/TAIL LIGHT Can be an # 1157 dual filament bulb
RED, Running or Tail Light.
BLUE,(sometimes with a Red stripe) Brake Light Circuit.
BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.
LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL Can be an #1157 dual filament bulb
GREEN, Left front turn signal circuit.
BLUE, Left front running light circuit.
BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.
RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL Can be an # 1157 dual filament bulb
GREY, Right front turn signal circuit.
BLUE, Right front running light circuit.
BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.
LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL Can be an #1156 single filament bulb
GREEN, Left rear turn signal circuit.
BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.
RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL Can be an #1156 single filament bulb

BLACK with YELLOW stripe, the ground circuit.

Thanks for all the help it ended up being that someone put a switch behind the left side cover don't know why it was put there but I found it thanks for all the help and I will keep the wire color codes

some people like to ride without a headlight during the day? never understood it but I know of three that do. I have a switch on right control called PO that I can turn on and off headlight. I ride with it on.
It might have had a charging issue at one time or another and owner didn't want to use headlight.....who knows. Kind of strange that the switch was hidden under cover that you couldn't get to while riding???
