Good small sized batteries?
30 Sep 2013 03:33
I'm turning my 650 into a cafe. Want the area between rear wheel and engine
to be open (as much as possible). What kind a battery can help save me space
without breaking the bank? I'm assuming I should get 12v battery no matter what?

In order for folks to provide the best advice, please add your bike's year and model to your signature line. It matters. Especially on the KZ650 which went through several iterations of charging systems. Ed

You will need 12 volt. You may want to look into a Lithium battery. They are small and lightweight and can be mounted in any position since they don't contain acid. Try searching on Alienmotion, Ballistic, and Shorai; they are companies that market them for bikes; there are others as well. You may be able to use a capacitor instead of a battery if you plan to remove the electric starter. Others on this site may be able to provide guidance. Ed

30 Sep 2013 17:23The Lithium type (Li Fe PO4) are the smallest and lightest and also the most expensive. Shorai sells them, I think they are in the $150 range.danpcali wrote: I'm turning my 650 into a cafe. Want the area between rear wheel and engine
