Have a 78 kz1000 just rebuilt the top end and am sure the cam timing is correct
Ive just installed a 81 kzooo J electronic ignition advancer and igniter
used a strobe lite to set the timing & the bike runs like poo,pops from the carbs ,idles lower than usual and real fluffy when gassing it at a stand still
I then slotted the ignition plate turned it counter clockwise about 5deg and it picked up the idle
stopped popping from the carbs and became very crisp when gassing it
now the strobe light shows the 2 timing bars on the advancer are about 1/8 to the left of the housing timing mark
what gives ?
