wire problem has e stumped

not sure when this happened but my tail light wont come on unless i switch the key to acc..i dont know where to start on this cause the brake lights work fine.

rem that the bulb has two elements.....brake.....running light. One can go bad and the other will work.
Could be as simple as installing a new bulb, this happened to me once and it was a bad bulb.
Try a new bulb first.

Including information about bike year and model is helpful to viewers and usually elicits better responses.
It's easy to put the information in your signature where it shows in all posted messages, past and future.
And may be changed whenever and as often as desired.
If wanting a signature showing information about the bike in posted messages, it's easy to do. Here's how:

its not the bulb cause the tail light comes on on acc. its a 77 kz650. also forgot to mention the gauge cluster lights wont come on.

Replace the Tail light Fuse in the Fuse Panel, and then see if it works.
The Ignition Switch has two different ways of powering the circuit. When in the normal ON position it needs this Fuse to be good. But in the Park position it goes through the Main Fuse.
Here is a wiring Diagram for you. Not sure of your Model, but this should be close.
