Here's one for someone more knowledgable than I!!

I've owned a Z1 Classic for over 20 years and it was converted to carbs before I bought it. I've recently put up some of the parts that I received with the cycle on Ebay. One part was the ECM that I don't need. I'm not sure of it's condition and I've stated that, with no returns, but my buy-it-now price is very reasonable. Someone has sent me a question offering me twice my asking price if I will guarantee it to be in working condition. That sounds VERY fishy!

My question to you is-even though the ECM case has serial numbers- can someone switch the internals and put theirs in my ECM case and then, of course, return it for a full refund?

I don't know but I would not mess with it. It sounds like it could be a big hassle.Lets say it does work but they do something to short it out? You lose.

Apparently the internals can be taken out of the ECM and be replaced. I'm asking 1/3 of a recently sold Ebay, guaranteed working ECM so I guess someone will get a good price on a "hopefully working" ECM.
