regulator/rectifier wiring was created by Glen4747
Hey guys, I have what I hope is a simple question. My bike has a regulator/rectifier combo unit installed under the battery box. There appears to be several wires running out of it, they are yellow, red and green. The yellow i think split into three bullet connectors and connects to the ac generator. The red and green wires both end in donut connectors and don't attach to anything, what should they be attached to? I'm thinking the green is a ground. but what is the red and where does it go? Thanks for any help.

I'm thinking the red goes to the positive battery terminal, and the green to the negative terminal, or grounded to the frame. Would this be correct?

Who did you buy this from? Or did the bike come this way? If it's a www.z1enterprises.com unit, they should be able to tell you how to wire it.

The bike came with the combo regulator/rectifier already on it.

Just to decode the wiring diagram:
3 wires go to the stator. They are not specific, and any of the 3 can go to any of the 3 from the stator.
1 wire goes to the battery. It should be fused. The diagram shows it going through the wiring harness, but I prefer going straight to the battery to minimize voltage loss.
1 wire goes to ground. Many prefer to wire it directly to the battery ground, and that is not a bad idea.

Hey, Thanks for the info, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I'll hook everything up when I get home from work, and I imagine it will solve my charging issues that I've been having! Thanks again. I don't have a lot of knowledge to contribute, but I have a few manuals and such if any one ever needs specifics from them. I'll help where I can.
