Why do you want to replace the stock electronic ignition? Stock is better than any aftermarket ignition on a stock motor.

+1 My understanding is that the stock electronic ignition system works as well as or better than aftermarket systems and requires less current. Ed

thanks guys, staying with the stock coils. was going to go DYNA b/c I thought it was an upgrade. dude I bought the bike from had cut cylinder 2 wire way too short. just replacing wires.

Your stock ignition coils were marginal, even when new, add years of cooking under the tank, and they develop cracks, letting in moisture, shorting out the coils. A popular upgrade is the 3 ohm Dyna or Accel ignition coils. If you go with new coils, replace the metal mounting spacer next to the terminals with a plastic or nylon one, as the primary(small wires) can short out, blowing the fuse).

Both Dyna and Accel will be using 3/16" ring terminals, replacing the 1/4" push on type that came with the Kawasaki ignition coils. I'd imagine the RED insulated 18 gauge terminals will work.
