my bike just all of sudden wont crank it will turn over,and like theres no fire going to the plugs and points.new plug points look good,the guy i bought it from done some by-passing.on it should i replace the harness

If it turns over, it cranks. You say you have no spark. How did you test for lack of spark? How's your fuel delivery? Replacing a harness can be costly and with some models obsolete. A shop manual with schematics and a multi-meter will be your best bet.

ive tested evrything,im getting plenty of fuel,ive got new plugs and wires,tried a coil,i have a harness like i said the guy i bought it from bypassed some stuff,and it was running good it just ive ckd my cam chain its in good condition.ckd voltage from the coil getting resisetence and voltage,getting fire at the starter relay,he has a extra relay on it.has the y/r wire runing to it,blue wire,red wire anda ground and a white.

Since it's not specified here, the 1980 KZ750G1 is a 750 twin (for anyone reading this).

Did you actually measure the gap on the points? Is there voltage at the points? are the points sparking when you crank over the motor?


If you don't have a manual, there's one available for download.

Are the points sparking "while" cranking the motor over? That would mean the condensor is bad.
