80 kz1000 kicks battery issues please help

Bike runs great, kicks over with kick start even though battery is dead as a door nail. I charge the battery and a couple days later its dead again. am I going to end up chasing wires or could this be something like a stator issue? any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me, you've got a drain on the battery. Do this: take a 12 volt light bulb, disconnect the Positive battery connection, and place the light bulb(you'll need a socket and wiring to do this),and see if the light bulb come on. If it does, start pulling fuses to determine which circuit is causing the drain. One or more wires may have damaged insulation, causing circuits to be energized that should not have been.
