load equalizer was created by jonarmstrong
I'm running led turn signals and tail light. Can't get the flashers to work and was told I needed load equalizers. Do I need one or two? Also, I've put two tail light assemblies on and they have both stopped working. Thought it was just dumb luck the first time but now I'm wondering if I need a load equalizer for it. Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the brake light, but for the turn signals you may want to try a Tridon/Stant 552 electronic flasher. I put one on my KZ650 because the turn signals did not flash very quickly when my battery was not fully charged. This flasher unit does not depend on a given level of current to operate, so I suspect it would work for LED bulbs. I bought mine at an auto parts store. Ed

+1 Electronic flasher fixes the problem with LED lamps because the load current is irrelevant. Standard flashers require the high current to make them flash.

Under $10.00 at any auto parts store. No need to get sucked into paying for "load equalizers" on bikes that use the flasher relay.

"Load equalizer" can be substituted for a simple resistor of the proper value and amp rating, or go with the flasher, less draw.

Got the flasher, works great. Also have a new tail light coming. Hopefully it will last longer than the last two!
