Blinker speed not matching was created by sig
My turn signals blink a different speeds. Left blinks faster with turn signal and hazards. Bad blinker relay??? Front matches back speed, it's the sides that don't match. AFAIK all the electrical is working properly. Anyone seen this type of problem?

If the bulbs in the lights are different wattages they will blink at different speeds. The flasher works based on current draw and heat created by it. If you have two 5 watt bulbs on the left side and two 10 watt bulbs on the right side they will flash different speeds.
A bad ground or intermittent short can cause this as well.

It has been reported that modern bulbs don't work right w the stock/original flashers.
You can try getting electronic flashers from the auto parts store. I saw an old post in which wg recommended getting a heavy duty trailer flasher - not sure if one of those is electronic or not.

I'll look into the wattage, with how little this bike was ridden it seems unlikely they were changed but that would be an easy fix.

There is only one flasher unit blinking both sides so different blink rate has to mean different load current between the sides.

This is a little late, but I had the same problem and fixed it by spraying de-oxit (an electrical contact cleaner) into the left handlebar control, right where the turn signal switch is. I sprayed a couple blasts into the switched, then turned the switch to each position and sprayed some more in. Then I worked the switch back and forth several times and this not only made both sides blink at the same speed again, but also made the front right signal start flashing again, which had previously not worked at all. I guess the switch contacts were corroded. Hope this helps.

De-Oxit is a very good electrical contact cleaner/preservative, I've used it for many years on my motorcycle, car, and home electronics, to keep them in good operating condition.
www.deoxit.com is their website.

On my bike I have two blinker relays. I assume one is for the hazards and the other is for the turn signals?

On My bike an 81 kz1000 LTD;Directional bulbs front and back side to side are individually grounded. The rear bulbs in particular are tough to get a good ground on. Every once in a while I have to clean the ground on the right side to get the speed to pick up.

Resistance is feutile! Lol. :woohoo: My 650 had an incorrect wattage bulb in the left side and done this. Weird thing is I swapped it with one in my honda 360 and both bikes work normal.
