Looks like a fuse is either blown or disconnected, I dont know where the fuse box is, but a good place to look for it is under seat or behind side covers.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

if your bike has the original, glass tubed fuses, one or more may have failed from age, current surges, or vibration. They are AGX in size, and most auto, and boating supply stores can get the fuses for you.

Most Kawasaki fuses are usually in a small, plastic compartment, with several wires leading into and out

You'll probably need 10,15 and maybe 20 amp fuses. On some Kawasaki's, the fuses will be near the air filter box.If you see signs of overheating(discolored fuse clips, melted wiring), think about upgrading from the glass tubed fuses to the type used in todays bike's and cars, the "Blade Style" fuses and fuse holders.

The small, two fuse holder is Kawasaki's power source for heated grips or vest.Your main fuse holder should have three or more fuses and clips for them in a plastic holder.

I've had the ignition switch fail before when I was riding. That would cause a no power situation too.

Best bet is to grab a test light or multimeter and start at the battery and work your way up the line... Battery-fuses-ect..

don't forget to check the grounds too.

Yes you need to replace those. That Red/ White wire is the Battery wire for your electrical.
Make sure you cut back to good wire that has not been heat damaged.
