NEW DYNA COILS SAME PROBLEM

hello..just installed dyna coils on 79 kz-ltd 1000 spark on all 4 great checked it all 4 spark great...1 and 2 fire up and pipe get hot..3 and 4 have great spark but don,t fire...it seems as pipe does not get hot..left coil 1 and 4 right coil 2-3...can timing out cause this or shims wrong..and my 79 still has the points in it not the transistorized...new plugs new wire,s..and is there an easy way to check timing or buy book only...

Would suspect fuel mixture issue and/or compression issue in #3 and #4.

Are the tips on spark plugs #3 and #4 wet with raw gasoline?

Adequate compression on #3 and #4?

Valve clearances on #3 and #4 within specs?

Check boots for cracks.

sounds like a fuel/carb issue :pinch:

1. Check spark,

you have already so that's good

2. get a compression tester, all 4 cylinders have the same compression (give or take a bit)

3. if 1 and 2 are ok the its carbs or timing, if 1 & 2 are firing then the timing is good

4. that leaves the carbs -- take off float bowls and unclogg main jets

Check the wires are going to the correct plugs.

! & 4 come from 1 coils, 2 & 3 from the other one.

If you want to check, pull the plugs out of the head, put them into the caps and lay on the head. Put a wrench on the end of the crank and slowly turn the engine. When the pistons come to the top of each bore, the plug for that cylinder should fire.
