Any pictures or suggestions out there?
Plans so far are to go kick start only so I think a small low cranking amp battery will work. Right?

Here's a photo we took while still working on it. You can see parts of the aluminum pieces that we used to mount the regulator, rectifier, and battery (before we painted it). The battery is a sealed lead-acid from a 50cc Honda Spree scooter.
Here's what the initial mock-up looked like under the seat. Everything just fits between the frame rails, and there is still some clearance before it hit the seat pan.
If you make a new seatpan and mount directly to it, it hides everything even more. I made mine so it would hinge up to work on the electronics. Use a long straight run of wires to allow for the twisting.

That's me, but I don't have a ton of stuff specific for minimalizing electrics, but there are many custom diagrams in the Mattylight thread.
There are also some diagrams for making voltage monitors using 1 or 3 LEDs, on my main page
. Seems like you have most of what you need, for now. Most of the mechanical info is for 550's and inline-four 400's (not the twin).
We did convert a KZ400 twin to electronic ignition using the points as the trigger.
You can see we located the ignition module, and circuit board under the tank, between the coils, so it is completely hidden.
