I would think that if it were the coil that you would have the same issue on #4. Have you checked that you have sufficient fuel in the #2 carb? Could also be a compression issue as others have stated.

Re: Only firing on 3 cylinders
25 May 2013 11:37 - 25 May 2013 11:48Intermittent spark could result from a defective connection where the coil output connects to the plug wire.bromz wrote: So I pulled number 2 plug grounded it to frame and i had a nice blue spark. Second time I tried it no spark Third time no spark, Fourth time I had spark. So coil? I have already posted I have changed the plugs and wires so they are all new....
Perhaps the metal terminal is improperly fitted onto the end of the plug wire that inserts into the coil output tower.
Question -- Are the new Dyna spark plug wires solid core or suppressor style wires?

copper core. They are not suppresor wire cause i talked to dyna and they said I would have to put my old caps on or buy resistor plugs.

Have you tried swapping the two coils? This will tell you if the problem is indeed with the one ignition lead or not.
Did you ever do a compression test? Check you valve clearances? Look for vacuum leaks? If so I must have missed that post.
Hope you get it figured out, so you can get out and ride.

I havent pulled the valve cover yet. As far as a vacum leak im sure im good but how would that cause a cylinder not to fire? I think I have it down to a stuck float closed gonna pull the carbs and check. Unless you think I should fight it and try to pull the bowl with the carbs in place.

I also do not think compression is an issue this bike only has 22k on it and it runs like an animal down the road

Well thought I had it fixed but must have been running on about 3 1/2 cylinders. I was riding over to my dads and half way there I lost a bunch of power. 60 was about my max. Well I limp it there and let it cool down and do a cold start and I am only runni g on 1 and 4 now. So I'm o. Vacation In Florida and won't get to mess with it till next week but I'm certain the coil finally failed. I have all new plugs and wired and the carbs are clean. I will reace the could when I get home.

Not sure what your confused face means ? What I meant to say is I will mess with it when I get home. Can you give me anymore input.
