76 kz 750 charge issue

Awsome.... So I posted that I could not get my charge system to work, a short while back. But I am pleased to say that I found the issue. I pulled the side cover off and removed the field exciter for the 3 phase system, and found a broken butt connection at the green wire that sits at the wound up coil. I reconnected the wire and put it all back together and the charge system functions flawless. With the brown and geen wires connected to the field I read 3.1 ohms, I ohmed the 3 phase wye wrapping for 1 ohm at all 3 yellow wires. I didnt test the regulator as the owners manual should give proper instructions. Any how I hope this may help anyone with the 76-77 3 phase system.

Over the years there has been quite a few stators replaced for just what you found, a bad connection to a winding.

I was in the hole thinking about trashin the old system and going for a new one. however the more I looked into the solutions I really couldn't find any, other than to visually look for an issue. so when I found the problem I kicked my self for such a simple fix. But I'm happy to say the bike will be on the road shortly.
