Handlebar turn signal relocation was created by 83KZ750LTD
Hey guys,

I'm changing my stock LTD bars to the superbike bend and in doing so, I'd also like to relocated the handlebar mounted signals to stems on the headlight. I've seen it done on many of the bikes in the galleries and was wondering how it was done. The mounting bolts for the headlight are smaller than most stems so I'm just looking for some ideas.

Is there a particular stem that works best? If so, which one?

Thanks!

The diagrams show that the F1 Ltd-Shaft has 8mm headlight bolts, so you'll probably have to find 8mm turn signal stems. I guess look for the stems from a smaller bike, such as a KZ200, 250, or 305? or smaller?

This may not be much help, since the headlight bolts on my bike are 10mm, but I used some KZ rear turn signal stems which were the same size as the bolts. KZ400 stems & some of the Honda CB stems of the era are 10mm as well. Perhaps there are some smaller Honda stems? Or other bike mfg... some of them are called turn signal brackets.

Here's website that shows many turn signals, but I don't think they sell on the internet:
www.kandstech.com/index.php?page=Turnsignal You'll need to go to the nearest parts dealer.

The K&S stuff is listed in the Parts Unlimited catalogue.
Z1Enterprises or PartsnMore may have something.

Something else to look into would be the headlight dampers & collars. Perhaps they could be swapped out with the ones for the 10mm headlight bolts?

any two wire signals off ebay and some fender washers can work...if the stems are too short to go all the way through the headlight and fork ears and get a threaded nut on them inside the headlight bucket...then hollow posts from the electric lamp stem hardware section at any hardware store can extend them with a nut....also you can get little turn signals on the net cheap and drill a hole in you fork ears /headlight braket...and locate them where you want run the wires and nut em down tight...they will pass for custom work......take the drill and signals and ride the store ...fish around and find what will work...they are cool about you going in and out with washers till you find what you want and pay....my 2 cents
