i have a 81 kz650h1
and im trying to somewhat clear out the space underneath my seat to get an "open trianagle" frame similar to a cafe racer or bobber look and i was wondering if its possible to swap the battery for a smaller battery ie different model gel battery to aid in this stylastic choice
also
the bike is an electric start only so will there be any problems with this as well?

will the difference in size hinder the potency of the battery though like the brightness of the headlights or ability to turn over the motor
because the way i see it 12v is 12v and the size just varies the length the battery stays charged with the motor off
but that doesnt me thats how it is

CCA or "Cold Cranking Amps" is how most batteries are rated. But if you have a high compression engine, and the oil is thick on a cold day, then I'd think the amps pulled would be far greater.

There will be others along with far greater knowledge of batteries, I'd imagine........

Amp-hour rating determines how long it lasts with the lights on, but CCA (cold crank Amps) tells how hard it will spin the starter on a cold engine. Both ratings are important. I think the A-hr rating you need is about 14 A-hr ballpark, I think CCA should be at least 220 ballpark.
