pickups interchangeable on pickup coil? was created by joe**
The pickups on a pickup coil assembly on ebay look like they would mount on my pickup coils plate. They are similar year. I don't want to pay $200 for brand new, and half price of new seems like a risk.
I have: 59026-1017
I'm thinking of buying : 59026-1009

Using the cross-ref at Partzilla, 59026-1009 is a KZ550 pulsing coil.

could the pickups from a 550 assembly be identical to the ones on a 750 assembly? Could the plate be of a different size or screw hole arrangement on a bigger 750 motor? Could the pickups be identical - compatible with the ignitions coils on my 750?

I have swapped pickups from the KZ/GPZ 750 to the KZ/GPZ 1100 and they worked just fine even though the part numbers were different. The numbers on the actual pickups were the same. The screw holes matched , the only difference I could find were the backing plates were different. They even plugged right it. Weather a 750 pickup will work on your 550 I really don't know.

Checking with the Kawasaki.com website has determined that the Pick up(pulsing) coils are available . The pulsing coil # is 59026-1133 and replaces the older # 1002, 1012 which were used from the MKII motors until the 2005 P24. Information about a Kz1000/Kz1100/GPz 1100 pick ups.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationIf yours look just like these, they will work, but the wires may be too short, so you may have to extend them.
These are too expensive, and they look terrible.
These are much better, and cheaper.
You would just remove the pickups from the timing plate and swap them on to your timing plate. (See the link below on how to orient the magnets and pay attention to the type of screws used.)
Usually you can get a set for about $50. You can use the pickups from any KZ as long as the pickups look just like those. As a matter of fact, you can even swap them if they have different wire colors... they just have to be flipped the right way.
Black swaps with yellow.
Blue swaps with red.
Here are some details on polarity, magnet mounting etc.
