Fuse for Z1B

25 Apr 2013 22:40

Would someone be so kind as to confirm what the amperage rating for the one fuse for the whole bike is. My friend is convinced that Z1E recommended a 20 amp fuse. Seems a little small to me.

Thanks!

some of the FI bikes have a 30 amp fuse(mine does), but try a 20 amp fuse for your bike, but read if possible the marking on the old fuse, as you don't want to burn up the wire harness due to overloads.

These fuses are AGX in size, most auto parts and boat supply stores can get them for you. AGC size won't fit, as they are longer in length.

The main fuse on a KZ650 is 20 amps. It's possible the Z1B is the same. Ed

20 amp -- no larger -- and don't use time delay ("slo-blo") fuses.

20 Amp is correct. Pg 23 of a Z1B's owners manual states 20 amp fuze, no larger.

My thinking was the same as Ed's. How could the 20 amp be sufficient for the whole bike since our 650s have a 20 and two 10s.

Thanks for the info guys. Apparently the parts break down for the Z1B just shows the fuse not what size the fuse is. I didn't look myself.

I have a good running Z1B which has gotten along just fine using one 20 amp fuze for 38 years.
