Replace original coils 1981 GPz1100 B1

I am trying to figure out what type and where to get replacement coils for this bike. It currently runs ok in the shop but I would like to replace the original 30+ year old coils before I find a problem on the road. The bike still has the original FI. I have replaced the stator and the ignitor just not sure what coils to get.

New replacement ignition coils are listed at Z1 Enterprises:

If uncertain as to the ohms resistance required, and don't have a Factory Service Manual to learn about the coil specs, would contact Z1E regarding the best particular coil for the installation at hand.

Would guess either the 1.5 ohm or 2.2 ohm coils, but am uncertain as to which.
Other members will know the exact coil specs.

Good Fortune! :)

I've replaced my bikes ignition coils with the Green, 3 ohm coils from Dyna. If in doubt, disconnect the primary(small wires) side, and using a multimeter put on ohms at the lowest seting, read what the ohms are.

Dana Coils and wires are good. Accel Coils and wires are good also. When you know your correct ohm setting,it's just a matter of cost/availability.Stock,Dana,Accel.Stockers are bolt-out,bolt-in.The others may require a bit of creativity.Personally,I like Accel because the wires are a pretty color yellow, and look good with the black and chrome of my bike.

Here's what is beneath my KZ1100-A2 gas tank, nessled between the frame rails, just above the J-motor.
If your frame setup is the same, perhaps this may help. :)
