motogadget m-unit
27 Feb 2013 05:19
I'm thinking of getting one of these for my 82 KZ1100 Spectre.
It's a little pricy but a good unit.javascript:popupWindow(' www.moto-madness.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=1285 ')

Supposed to be pretty cool. I think Les was going to put one on his bike and another gentlemen who has a trick project build was going to do it as well. I am still deciding, but will probable just go the route of a custom harness and electrical system from scratch with various "regular" components. It is simply a money thing for me, or I would be on it like a fat kid on a cupcake!

That what I was wondering.
Would it be that much cheaper after buying after market fuse box relays and every thing else the m-unit is capable of doing?

I have found it is, especially if you shop around. I am using weatherpack connectors, relays with bases, marine fuse block, etc... Again, I am not saying the unit is bad, it looks freakin cool. In addition, I tend to ride a lot, and go on trips far from home. I like to know if anythign in the electrical goes wrong, I can easily hit a local autoparts store or even a hardware store and get replacement fuses, relays, flashers, etc... and fix it right then and there.

I see what you mean in case the m-unit breaks down your stuck while the other you can fix yourself.
