Handlebar controls swap

Has anyone swaped out the controls from a late model zr6/zzr 600 to a kz model (84 kz700). I have a project bike that I'm working on and would like to swap out the controls.

I swapped in a right side switch from a ZX12...or R1 (they're the same) and an aftermarket left switch onto my '78 Kz1000 and will be swapping a similar right switch and a ZX6RR left switch onto my '76 Kz900. It's pretty easy if you have the wiring diagrams for each bike.

Yeah true I have to get the 07 zzr600 wiring diagram. I opened both controls from both years to see what was what. The diagram makes it a lot better to work with. I guess I would just have to buy the connectors match the wiring and plug and play. How did yours turn out streetfighter?

It was straight forward from what I can remember (I did it around 10 years ago). I used bullet connectors so I didn't have to modify the stock main harness.

I'm most likely going with a completely custom harness on my 900 and will use nice OEM style connector blocks when the time comes.

That is what I'm going with I just bought some OEM connectors. I just have to look it over. I'm also going with acewell speedo. (more wiring).
