You can do the above if your on a really tight budget but I have a hard time trusting older electrnics that are exposed to heat and vibration for over 30 years. If you can afford it go with the Dyna S.

Only did it because at the time I could not afford the Dyna, again.
I had a Dyna S fry on me.
Went back to points for a while.
I found KZ electronic bits at a reasonable cost, some years back, before the rise in current prices of all things on ebay.
