I have a 1980 KZ750-4 that I have a question about the Dyna s and the mechanical advancer. Can you put this back together 180 degrees out. I've read that you can, is this true. Thanks guys.

I guess I should explain, I took it apart to Lubriplate the advancer and put it back together and it wouldn't start.

I've done that very thing on my 1982 GPz 1100 when cleaning & lubing the advancer. It's a simple fix, just check to see if the engine will start after advancer maintenance.

Yes, it can incorrectly be installed 180 out. So can the stock ignition rotor or points cam. You just have to take it off and flip it around.

As a test, you can just swap the green wire and black wire on the coils.
