Not a problem question just a why question. Does anyone know why the Dyna S instructions have you time the system at full advance instead of using the "F" mark at idle.

Meanwhile, I ignore the Dyna-S timing instruction, and use the F mark as if fitted with points, and enjoy satisfactory results. And happily rely on the advancer to function as intended by Kawasaki. Moreover, it's easy to watch and see whether the advanced marks align at higher rpm when viewed with a timing light.
Am thinking maybe the Dyna folks are more concerned about the owner achieving spot-on advance timing as opposed to spot-on idle speed timing.
As known, each Dyna-S module may be separately adjusted through a small range. However, guessing most owners simply align F mark on 1/4 and call it done.
Good Fortune!

The total advance on an ignition system should be checked, to make sure that the Total is not to much, as it can be very damaging to an engine. At higher RPM's you won't here any Detonation like when a motor makes these sounds at lower RPM. To much Initial, or to much total either is bad.
