How to Remove Speedo Needle

I was taking apart an extra speedo that I have.

I realized the needle has a cover that comes off easy enough, but how do you get the needle off so you can remove the face plate? I thought I would ask before I break something.

the needles can be pried off very carefully. i used two screw drivers. just be sure you pry against the faceplate screws and not the faceplate itself...steve

I use 2 spoons. Use them like you were eating with them. Put the bottom on the screws so you don't mess up the face plate. Use them like a pry bar and be sure to pry evenly. It will come off pretty easily.
