head light mounting bracket was created by kzcurt
my 82 kz1100 came with the Vetter fairing and the head light is in the fairing. so when i took it off I expected to see some way to hook up the headlight without the fairing on???? nothin'
does anybody know what the backet is supposed to look like. is it separate or just fork ears like the 400's are? seems kind of alot of work for putting on an off the fairing, to put fork ears on an off each time too????
any help?

The stock bikes came with headlight mounts installed on the upper fork tubes, so I'd check with the salvage yards for a bike like your's for parts. The headlights had rubber vibration insulators, and the tilting/aiming was held in place by a clamp beneath the headlight.

Check out the diagrams & cross-reference at Kawasaki.com or PowerSportsPlus.
Then head over to ebbaayy to see if there's anything listed. The photos there are handy.
Also, check out the classifieds here & elsewhere.

Thanks Guys,
Martin, kaws website shows a wire type bracket not at all like what is up on ebay stated for my bike, my year- fork ears. maybe they were on the non-touring bikes? since i dont anticipate keeping this a touring bike and it will probably morf into a cruiser anyway. I still want the original type in case i want to fairing it out for a trip sometime.....
thanks for the information!
now anybody know where i can get a "wire type" bracket for the headlight??? :)

I went through the headlight fiasco 12 years ago with mine.
Taking the fairing junk (stuff) off made a significant handling improvement. A good fork brace, and set of Elite 3 tires made it even better.

Thanks found and bought a Chrome one with turn lights. not sure about that adjustment screw yet though, if I can use the one off the old fairing...?
I also bought a new fairing, bag, trunk set. didiyou have the lowers on yours when it was on your bike?
