Hey everyone. I haven't been here in a while as my KZ400 has been running great for the last year. Unfortunately I am currently going through some carb issues with it, but that is beside the point.

I picked up a 1980 KZ440 limited, complete with parts bike, off of Craigslist for a whopping $175. Including title.

According to the previous owner, carbs were rebuilt, coils were tested and are good, but still no spark. Looks like it's the pick-up coil as there is no visible spark when the cover is off. I am use to the 79 KZ400 which has the points system rather than the pickup coil.

Since I am new to the pickup coil game I have a few questions...

1) I have a extra complete points system from a earlier model 440 (i.e. the parts bike). Would it be possible to do a straight swap from the pickup coil set up to the points set up? Or there too many differences?

2) If I need to replace the pickup coil where is the best place to look? I don't see a lot of options on eBay.

Any input appreciated!
