Oops... broke my kz750 was created by Carr_113
...accidentally snapped the head off of the bolt grounding the negative battery lead to the engine on my '80 KZ750E. It just crumbled into my hand - or i just grossly underestimated my own strength... Any suggestions for another good spot to attach the ground before I start drilling the remnants out? Thanks in advance!

Really just needs to be bolted to any solid piece of metal. Pick something that stays relatively dry, and it's best to be on the engine just to reduce potential resistance sources for grounding out your ignition system, although strictly speaking I don't see why it would be absolutely necesary.

Make sure your new location does not have any paint. Ask "Black Banshee"(Leon) about his misfortune when he went with larger battery cables.

Thanks for the input, guys. I ended up bolting it behind the steel tab that the rear brake fluid reservoir is mounted to. I threaded a longer bolt into the tab from behind to hold the connector against the frame (which I cleaned up for a good contact), then tightened a nut down over the other side to secure it, and mounted the reservoir with a washer and another nut. Works great, and looks pretty clean, too.
