Dissappearing Spark

1982 KZ750 Sceptre

Basically, I have intermittent spark. I'm wondering some steps to check for the problem.

Start by checking "all" the connections, including kill switch, clutch switch, sidestand switch (if it has one), ignition switch, fuses, etc. Everything between the coils and the battery, and between the coils and the ignition pickups.
