This is fitted to the wiring harness of my KZ650B1 - anybody know what it does?

1977 KZ650B1
1980 F1 engine
B1 3-phase alternator
B1 Points ignition

it flashes your instruments brake light indicator when the bulb in the brake light goes out...lets you know that you dont have a tail light or brake light or both ...
least thats what i think it is

mine flashed non stop when I changed to an LED taillight i just removed the plug no more flashing.

Ah, thanks

It may not be the most clever idea to have a red light flash just below the oil pressure lamp every time I stop - having it come on if the lamp failed would be cleverer - but it is good to know that the brake light is working.

The parts catalogue calls it a - Switch outage indicator. Part No. is 28019-001.
