Ordered parts for wrong model bike multiple times was created by rdk
Can anyone help me find ignition points for a 78 KZ650B. I ordered the wrong ones last time. Also ordered the wrong carb slides. It's getting old. I don't want to replace with electronic ignition until I know this bike is worth fixing. Much appreciated!

kawasaki.com parts diagrams show both sets of points are active. so you should be able to order from a dealer. Check at Z1 enterprises also as they list replacements for these OEM numbers.

Are you positive about which model you have; what did you use to determine the model? The reason I ask, is that you say you have a "78 K650B." Kawasaki made a 1978 KZ650-B2, so if you tell someone you have a 78 K650B most folks would assume you have a KZ650-B2. However, in the last several months of 1978 Kawasaki began their production of 1979 KZ650-B3 models. Some folks get confused if they see 1978 on the frame label and believe they have a B2 when in fact they have a B3 that was built in 1978. Ed

Take a look at this site:
models.kz650.info/index.htm
You should be able to match your frame number against the chart to see if it's a B2 or B3. The frame number is stamped in the steering stem neck. Ed
