This question is about an RZ350, I thought I'd ask here though since we have so many knowledgeable people on this forum.

I parked the RZ350 two months ago to have the gas tank painted. The tank is finished and I put the key in the ignition a few days ago. No power so I figured the battery needed a charge. A day of trickle charging and I put it back in the bike. Still, when I turned the key nothing happened at all.

I checked the main fuse and it was okay. I swapped it with a new fuse just to make sure.

Next, I went through the various connectors around the battery, under the seat and around the motor and cleaned them by taking them apart, spraying electrical cleaner and snapping them back together.

Still no luck so today I took a battery off a KZ1000 and hooked it up to the RZ350 to see if it would help. Nothing.

I'm no expert with a multimeter. With the KZ1000 battery hooked up and the ignition switch on, I connected the positive multimeter lead to the main fuse contacts and grounded the negative lead to the frame. Still nothing. Did I test it the right way?

So my next guess is that there's corrosion in the ignition switch connectors, which I will probably work on this afternoon. There's some extra work because I have to take the fairing off.

Any suggestions?

I figured out the problem. The ground wire wasn't connected properly. All is well now.
