Sparking but not firing was created by KZ1000inaus
My bikes been off the road for a couple of weeks being painted and while it was off i took the opportunity to balance the carbs using new gauges (first time ive done it and not as easy as i thought). I thought all seemed well but putting tank back on and taking it for it's first ride i could tell it was not running right.
to cut a long story short no.2 spark plug stays wet and is not firing but it has a decent enough spark. I've tried the obvious with swapping plugs etc.
Any ideas?
I have a feeling i've always had a small misfiring problem with No.2 since i got the bike a few months back which usually gets better after it gets hot.

How are you checking the spark? Holding a plug attached to the plug wire against the cooling fins? I prefer using these:

Perhaps fuel level in #2 carb is too high.

Air box or pods?
If using pods, could test run without #2 pod, as maybe #2 pod is dirty or over-oiled.

What is compression psi in #2 cylinder?

Are #2 cylinder valve clearances within specs?

How does voltage measured at the coil compare with voltage measured between the battery posts?
What is the voltage not running?
What is the voltage at 4000 rpm?

Great idea, ive just ordered one, ive never really liked holding it on cooling fins !
