Relay upgrade and wire gauge was created by BARNEYHYPHEN
Did the WG coil/Relay upgrade about a year ago. When originall done, I used 16ga wire to feed the coils from the relay. Never really had any noticable problems and was happy with the improvement over stock, due to the relay upgrade.
However, Last night I redid all the upgrade wiring, cut and resoldered all the joints and used 16ga on all the Dyna feeds/triggers, 12ga to power the relay, 12ga to power the coils from the relay and 10ga to ground.
Noticable difference.
For my joints, I use the small crimp joints BUT, I strip off the plastic outer, solder the wires in each end then DOUBLE shrinkwrap each joint. First piece of shrink I cut to extend 1/2" down each wire and the second piece I run 1/2" beyond that, down each wire. Keeps then very clean, very dry and they have double "coating" to protect against Friction wear.

I prefer to solder using the connectors that way too.
