Speedo not working was created by Kitten Tooth
The speedometer on my dad's 81' KZ1000LTD quit working. No gauge, oil light, or neutral light but the left turn signal indicator in the gauge still worked. We traced the common wire for the lights and speedo into the harness (brown wire) and found that it was severed inside the actual harness. We fixed that wire and now the oil and neutral lights work as they should but still no speedometer. The wires coming from the sender on the wheel are (black w/ yellow stripe, blue w/ white stripe, and white) all from a 3 pin connector. What do these wires do? Also the wires coming from the gauge are (Turquoise, Green, red w/ blue stripe, Black w/ yellow stipe, brown, blue w/ pink stripe, and an orange wire) all from a 6 pin connector except for the orange wire. We do have a wiring diagram but it does not state what each wire does. Was wondering if anybody could tell me what these wires do coming from the sender and going into the gauge.

Thanks guys,
KT
